Former governor of Plateau State and the incumbent Senator for
Plateau North Senatorial District, Jonah Jang, has said that Governor
Simon Lalong of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would not be
re-elected in 2019.
Jang made the assertion during a constituency empowerment
programme organised by the member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom
federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Istifanus
Gyang.
He said: “The people of Plateau have decided to vote the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 and will vote against Governor Lalong if
he decides to contest.”
The lawmakers condemned the current hardship in the country and
called on the people of the state to vote the APC out of power in 2019.
Jang called on members of PDP to unite and work towards the victory of the Party come 2019.
The former governor said during his first tenure he wasn’t
travelling abroad like the present governor is doing, “but as it is in
Plateau now, the governor has travelled abroad so many times all in the
name of bringing in investors, where are the investors?” he said.
Also speaking at the occasion, the PDP Chairman in the State, Hon
Damishi Sango cautioned party members not to be involved in anti-party
activities.
