Fayose’s proposed PDP exit

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, seen by many as well-tutored in the art of political skullduggery and mastery of shenanigans described the Ondo people’s democratic choice as an impossible task in Ekiti State. The narrative of grassroots hegemony is also disputable for the fact that the demographics of the grassroots, be it the state civil service or the ‘okada’ riders, are hardly enthusiastic of the performance of Governor Fayose’s patronage.
The Ekiti electorate might have made up their minds on the ouster of Fayose’s political dynasty in a more dramatic way than the Ondo experience.
Again, the President Muhammadu Buhari’s political capital as witnessed in Edo and Ondo is likely to resonate with the Ekiti voters who would likely see Fayose’s political tendencies as isolationist at best and a regional disjunction from the rest of the South-West.
The governor’s tentative exit from the Peoples Democratic Party could have no political resonance beyond its facade of comic relief.
